The first publicly-funded museum in central West Virginia, the Blennerhassett Museum is named for wealthy aristocrat Harman Blennerhassett, whose shady dealings with the traitor Aaron Burr earned him a prison sentence in the 1800s. His namesake museum features three floors of Ohio Valley history, ranging from Indian tools and jewelry to 20th-century automobiles and farm implements. The museum lies in the heart of town, two short blocks from Point Park.
